Intraoral Camera Technology at Pearly Dental Care
Improving Our Patients’ Dental Experience
An intraoral camera is one of the diagnostic tools used in this practice, in part because the clinical condition of a patient’s teeth is not always easy to interpret without direct visual support.
What Is an Intraoral Camera?
The intraoral camera is a compact, pen-shaped instrument fitted with a camera at its tip. A built-in LED light illuminates the oral cavity, enabling the detection of cavities or fractures that would otherwise be difficult to identify visually. Images captured by the camera are transmitted to a monitor, giving patients a direct view of what Dr. Khatibian observes during the examination. This shared perspective can meaningfully improve the dental experience by helping patients understand the reasoning behind any treatment recommendations.
Why We Use an Intraoral Camera
At Pearly Dental Care, intraoral camera technology is incorporated into the diagnostic process to support both accuracy and patient understanding. This tool allows patients to view their own oral conditions directly, including issues such as cracked teeth, decay, deteriorated or defective fillings, bleeding gums, and tartar buildup. Patients have consistently noted that this direct visual access is something they value.
